The announcement text: |
The Company is a highly visible, dynamic, and fast growing company which specializes in waste recycling with a focus on social and environmental impact. The company is expanding rapidly and seeks a new Chief Financial Officer to help take the business to the next level.
The company’s CEO and Founder is currently responsible for managing all aspects of the business. The current CFO, who has been with the company for several years, has numerous strong skills, but does not have the experience to provide management and the Board with the tools they seek to model and optimize the company’s growth. In order to grow revenue and profits and expand the business both in the US and internationally, a new, commercially-savvy CFO with successful experience in managing the growth of a dynamic business is sought to join the company. This CFO will report directly to the CEO/Founder, will be based at headquarters on the East Coast, and will be part of the senior team including the Senior Vice Presidents and General Counsel.
The CFO will have the opportunity to help lead the continued growth of the company and to be a major part of the company’s further evolution. The company needs a CFO to be a true partner with the CEO/Founder and other senior leaders in the organization, modeling the business from both cost-efficiency and optimizing net income perspectives. The successful candidate will be positioned to have a major impact on the organization, with input into HR policy, IT systems, and the business development of all divisions of the company.
Specific responsibilities are as follows:
• Accounting & Internal Control: Oversee and have final responsibility for all aspects of accounting operations, including the establishment and enforcement of accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP and future SEC requirements, ensuring the integrity of the company’s financial data and external financial reporting. Plans for each department, with targets and abilities to measure interim progress with regard to income, margin, and expenses, need to be better developed and managed in cooperation with department heads.
• Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the construction of the annual operating plan so that it supports the initiatives of the company and serves as a playbook for the growth of the business. Provide financial and business decision leadership support for both on-going business and the development of new opportunities. Ensure management has a deep understanding of the business and can accurately forecast results for both internal and external use. The CFO will need to be able to present a dashboard of indices that will help management and the Board better understand the state, direction, and potential of the business.
• Capital Structure Management: Manage the liquidity needs of the company. As such, he or she will develop a capital structure strategy and execute against it. This will include the issuance of debt and equity, as well as putting in place adequate back up credit facilities.
• Consolidated Financials: Provide direction to the company’s international subsidiaries and manage integrated financial statements for the company as a whole. While the company intends to remain private for the foreseeable future, the CFO will need to oversee appropriate internal and external audits in contemplation of a possible a public offering in the future.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of driving financial results with high-growth and entrepreneurial companies, and will have the executive presence and skills to be an effective communicator with all constituents. The ideal candidate will have successfully demonstrated a diversity of financial roles and responsibilities and should possess the following knowledge and technical experience:
• Experience: A minimum of 15 years in a finance role with increasing responsibility, with at least seven years with dynamic, entrepreneurial, and non-traditional companies. Experience in a consumer-facing company is a requirement, with an emphasis on interaction with the operations of their business.
• Technical Finance Skills: Strong financial planning and analysis skills that have allowed business partners to make better operating decisions. Experience with the issuance of debt & equity securities for private companies, risk management, and investor relations. A solid understanding of accounting principles and related control and regulatory requirements.
The CFO role includes a compensation package consisting of a base salary and stock options.
